The Rt. Rev. Ken GoodWarm greetings to you from the historic diocese of Derry and Raphoe, in the north west of Ireland.
Some of the great heroes of the early Celtic church came from this part of the world, most notably St Columba, born locally here in Gartan in 521, he later evangelised Scotland from his community in Iona, and the church today is conscious of standing in a rich heritage of faith and of missionary endeavour.
One of the enriching features of this united diocese is that one half of it (Derry) is in Northern Ireland and the other half (Raphoe) is in the Republic of Ireland. So we operate in two political jurisdictions, with two currencies (sterling and euro), but with one Diocesan Synod, one Diocesan Council and one administrative centre. This diversity is a healthy reminder that oneness in Christ transcends boundaries, cultures and political systems.
The church’s worship, ministry and mission throughout the diocese are currently carried out through 50 parishes and 120 churches. You are warmly invited to come and visit us in this most beautiful and scenic part of the world, and we would, of course, be grateful for your prayers as we continue on our pilgrimage of faith and outreach.
Yours sincerely in Christian hope,

The See House, 112 Culmore Road, Londonderry, BT48 8JF
